Damaged, Missing or Need an Extra Bin?

Bins take a lot of wear and tear — cracked lids, snapped wheels, and the occasional bin that simply goes missing. Here’s how each situation is normally handled.

Damaged bin

A cracked lid, broken wheel or split body affects collection — a damaged bin that won’t close properly may be left uncollected for hygiene and safety reasons. Contact our customer care team with your account details and a description (or photo) of the damage, and a replacement will be arranged. You can also report this directly in your Greyhound App or by chatting to us via our Chat button in the bottom right corner.

Missing bin

If a bin has gone missing entirely — taken by mistake, damaged beyond use, or simply not returned to your property after collection — report it as soon as possible so a new one can be issued and your next collection isn’t disrupted.

Need an extra bin

Households that consistently fill their bin before collection day, or have higher waste volumes (larger families, home businesses, additional waste needs), can request an additional bin. This is usually straightforward but may involve a change to your plan, since your billing is affected by the extra capacity.

FAQ

Is there a charge for a replacement bin?

This depends on the reason — genuine wear-and-tear damage is typically replaced free of charge, while a bin that’s been lost or damaged through misuse may carry a small fee. Our team will confirm this when you report it.

How long does a replacement bin take to arrive?

Typically within a few working days of the request being logged, similar to a new sign-up delivery timeline.

Will an extra bin change my monthly bill?

Yes — an additional bin usually means a plan adjustment, since it adds capacity. Our team will talk you through the cost before confirming.
