€10,000 Donation to Women’s Aid

Greyhound Recycling this week presented a €10,000 cheque to Women’s Aid, after customers across Greater Dublin and Kildare turned a simple choice at sign-up into a summer of giving.

Funds raised by Greyhound customers and staff will support the vital work of Women’s Aid across Ireland

Every new customer who joined Greyhound this summer could opt to have Greyhound donate to Women’s Aid on their behalf, so choosing a bin service also meant backing a cause that matters. Customers then spread the word through a “refer a friend” scheme, bringing family, friends and neighbours with them, and the donation grew with every sign-up.

The Greyhound team added their own miles too, with staff taking on a “walk 100 miles” challenge in support of the campaign. From early morning loops to lunchtime laps, colleagues across the business clocked up the steps to help push the total over the line.

The donation will support Women’s Aid in providing frontline services to women and children experiencing domestic violence and abuse, including its national helpline, support and information services, and training and advocacy work.

Greyhound would like to thank every customer who opted in, everyone who referred a friend, and every member of staff who laced up their runners for the challenge.
