Greyhound Household, one of the country’s largest domestic waste companys, has called on people to make a special effort to use their brown bins. Greyhound says almost 95% of people don’t utilise their brown bin while more than 40% don’t us it at all.
Greyhound’s Managing Director said:
“We are encouraging householders to place this extra waste in their brown bins. Greater use of brown bins will save households money on collection fees; cuts down on bin contamination and helps the environment.”
The company has launched a competition in January 2018 and it’s back from July 2022 to encourage people to segregate their waste and maximise the use of the brown bin (organic/compost). Householders who use their brown bins for food and other compostable waste will automatically enter a weekly draw for a €100 voucher.
