Which Bin Collection Plan Is Right for You?
Most Dublin bin providers, Greyhound included, offer some version of three plan types. They all cover the same three-bin service — the difference is purely in how you’re charged.
Fixed monthly plan
One set fee each month, usually including a general waste weight allowance (for example, up to 30–65kg depending on household size) with excess charged per kilo above that. Best for households with predictable, consistent waste output who want to budget the same amount every month.
Pay per lift
You’re charged each time a bin is actually collected, rather than a flat monthly fee. This suits households that don’t fill their general waste bin every single cycle.
Pay by weight
Charged based on the actual weight collected each time. This rewards households that are extra diligent about separating recycling and food waste, since the general waste bin — the one that’s weighed and charged — ends up lighter.
Which one actually suits you
- Large family, consistent waste every week → fixed monthly for budgeting certainty
- Small household, bins not always full. → pay per lift
- Household that recycles and composts heavily → pay by weight, since your general waste bin will typically be light
Whichever plan you’re on, brown and green bins carry no weight allowance limit with Greyhound — so switching more of your waste out of the general waste bin and into recycling or composting reduces your bill regardless of which plan you’re on.
