Greyhound’s Group Managing Director, John Brosnan said:

“The Christmas period sees a big increase in the amount of food waste generated. We are encouraging householders to place this extra waste in their brown bins. Greater use of brown bins will save households money on collection fees; cuts down on bin contamination and helps the environment.”

The company has launched a competition to encourage people to segregate their waste over the holidays. Householders who use their brown bins for food and other compostible waste will automatically enter a weekly draw for a €100 voucher. Super recyclers will enter a monthly draw for a €500 voucher.
