Two Dublin families; one from the North side and the other from South side are now battling to become our Recycling Champion ’15.

A large number of households throughout Dublin have had their bins monitored over a period of four weeks. Based on their overall weights, Maurice Foyle from Sandymount and Romona Irimicuc from Whitehall have just been announced as Recycling Champion Finalists in the competition. Collectively the families have moved over 100 kg of household waste from their black bin to their brown and green bins!

Greyhound’s owner, Michael Buckley said;

This competition has generated great excitement and enthusiasm from the participants and I would like to congratulate our two finalists. Household recycling will become an even more important issue next year when new pay-by-weight legislation comes into effect. These measures are not only good for the environment, they will allow families to make savings by being more aware of the benefits of proper waste segregation.
